Tomato Gravy
A tangy Southern classic — ripe tomatoes cooked down into a rich gravy served over biscuits.
Ingredients
- 4.00 slice bacon
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.00 cup an tomatoes
- 1.00 cup water
- 0.50 tsp sugar
- salt and black pepper

Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, remove and set aside.

Keep about 3 tablespoons of bacon drippings in the pan.

Whisk flour into drippings over medium heat and cook 1-2 minutes.

Add diced tomatoes with their juice and water, stirring well.

Cook over medium heat stirring frequently until gravy thickens, about 10 minutes.

Add sugar and season with salt and pepper.

Crumble bacon back into gravy.
