Sunday Pot Roast
A traditional Sunday pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and homemade gravy.
Ingredients
- 3.00 lb chuck roast
- salt and pepper
- 3.00 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1.00 onion , quartered
- 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 4.00 cup arrots , chunked
- 4.00 potatoes , quartered
- 2.00 cup beef broth
- 1.00 cup red wine
- 2.00 tsp worcestershire sauce
- thyme , rosemary, and bay leaf
Instructions

Season roast generously with salt and pepper.

Brown all over in hot oil in a Dutch oven, about 4 minutes per side.

Remove and set aside.

Sautรฉ onion and garlic.

Return roast to pot.

Add broth, wine, Worcestershire, and herbs.

Bring to a boil.

Cover and braise at 325ยฐF for 2 hours.

Add carrots and potatoes.

Cook covered 1 more hour until everything is tender.

Remove bay leaf.

Rest 10 minutes before serving.
