Strawberry Shortcake
Fresh strawberries and whipped cream over warm homemade biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2.00 cup fresh strawberries , sliced
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 2.00 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 cup sugar for shortcake
- 1.00 tbsp baking powder
- 0.50 tsp salt
- 6.00 tbsp cold butter
- 0.67 cup heavy cream plus more
- 1.00 tsp vanilla
- whipped cream
Instructions

Mix strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let macerate at least 30 minutes.

Make shortcakes: mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

Add cream and vanilla, stir until just combined.

Drop mounds onto a baking sheet.

Brush tops with cream and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 425ยฐF for 12-14 minutes until golden.

Split warm shortcakes.

Spoon strawberries and their juice over bottom half.

Add whipped cream and top half.
