Blackberry Dumplings
Fresh blackberries dropped into a sweet buttery dumpling dough.
Ingredients
- 4.00 cup fresh blackberries
- 1.00 cup sugar for berries
- dumplings: 2 cups all-purpose flour , 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup whole milk, 3 tbsp butter melted
- 0.50 cup sugar for sauce
- 1.50 cup water
- 2.00 tbsp butter for sauce
- 1.00 tsp vanilla

Make sauce by simmering blackberries with 1 cup sugar, water, and 2 tbsp butter until berries break down, about 10 minutes.

Keep at a gentle simmer.

Mix dumpling dough by combining flour, baking powder, and salt, then stirring in milk and melted butter.

Drop tablespoon-sized dumplings into simmering blackberry sauce.

Cover and cook without lifting lid for 15 minutes.

Stir in vanilla.
