Ingredients

  • 1.00 cup dried beans , soaked and drained
  • 1.00 ham hock
  • 1.00 onion , diced
  • 3.00 cup loves garlic , minced
  • 2.00 cup arrots , diced
  • 2.00 stalks celery , diced
  • 1.00 cup potatoes
  • 1.00 cup turnips
  • 1.00 cup an tomatoes
  • 6.00 cup chicken broth
  • 2.00 cup collard greens , chopped
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

    Simmer ham hock in broth 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add beans, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, potatoes, and turnips.

    Cook 1 hour.

  4. 4

    Add tomatoes and collard greens.

  5. 5

    Simmer another 30 minutes until all vegetables and beans are very tender.

  6. 6

    Remove ham hock and shred meat back into soup.

  7. 7

    Season with salt and pepper.

  8. 8

    Serve hot.
