Shrimp and Grits Breakfast
Creamy grits topped with seasoned shrimp, bacon, and a rich butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.00 cup stone-ground grits
- 4.00 cup water
- 1.00 tsp salt
- 3.00 tbsp butter
- 1.00 cup cheddar cheese
- 1.00 lb medium shrimp , peeled and deveined
- 4.00 slice bacon , chopped
- 1.00 small onion , diced
- 2.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 1.00 tbsp lemon juice
- salt , pepper, and Cajun seasoning to taste

Cook grits in salted water according to package directions, about 20-25 minutes.

Stir in 2 tbsp butter and cheddar cheese. Keep warm.

Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, remove and set aside.

In bacon drippings sauté onion until softened, about 3 minutes.

Add garlic and cook 1 minute.

Add shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning.

Cook shrimp 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.

Squeeze lemon juice over shrimp.

Serve shrimp mixture over cheesy grits and top with crumbled bacon.
