Southern Jello Salad
A vintage Southern gelatin salad with fruit, nuts, and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1.00 box strawberry or cherry jello
- 1.00 cup boiling water
- 1.00 cup cold water
- 1.00 cup an crushed pineapple
- 1.00 cup miniature marshmallows
- 0.50 cup pecans
- topping: 8 oz cream cheese , 8 oz whipped topping

Dissolve Jello in boiling water.

Add cold water and stir.

Refrigerate until partially set, about 45 minutes.

Fold in pineapple, marshmallows, and pecans.

Pour into a 9x13 dish.

Refrigerate until fully set, about 4 hours.

Beat cream cheese until smooth and fold in whipped topping.

Spread over set Jello layer.
