Ingredients

  • 2.00 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.00 tsp baking powder
  • 0.50 tsp salt
  • 1.00 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.50 tsp nutmeg
  • 1.00 cup butter
  • 1.00 cup brown sugar
  • 4.00 l arge eggs
  • 0.25 cup bourbon
  • 2.00 cup mixed dried fruits: raisins cherries dates figs
  • 1.50 cup pecans

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 300°F and line two loaf pans with parchment.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat in eggs one at a time.

    Add bourbon.

    Stir in flour mixture.

    Fold in dried fruits and pecans.

    Divide among pans.

    Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Cool in pans.

    Wrap in cheesecloth soaked in bourbon.

    Wrap in foil and store in a cool place.

    Age at least 2 weeks, re-soaking cheesecloth with bourbon weekly.

    The longer it ages the better it tastes.
