Snap Beans
Fresh green beans snapped and slow cooked with a ham hock.
Ingredients
- 2.00 lb fresh snap beans , snapped into pieces
- 1.00 ham hock
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 3.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 4.00 cup chicken broth
- salt and pepper
Instructions

Combine ham hock, onion, garlic, and broth in a large pot.

Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes.

Add snap beans.

Season with salt and pepper.

Reduce heat and cook covered 45-60 minutes until beans are very tender.

Southern beans are cooked long and slow until completely soft.

Remove ham hock and pull off any meat.

Return meat to beans.

Adjust seasoning and serve.
