Corndog
Homemade hot dogs dipped in cornbread batter and fried golden.
Ingredients
- 8.00 hot dogs
- 1.00 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1.00 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 1.00 tbsp baking powder
- 1.00 tsp salt
- 1.00 cup buttermilk
- 1.00 l arge egg
- vegetable oil for frying
- wooden skewers
- mustard and ketchup
Instructions

Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.

Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Whisk in buttermilk and egg until smooth batter forms.

Heat 3 inches of oil to 375°F.

Dip each hot dog into batter, letting excess drip off.

Lower into hot oil carefully.

Fry 2-3 minutes turning until golden brown all over.

Drain on paper towels.
