Butter Beans
Fresh butter beans slow cooked with smoked turkey and butter.
Ingredients
- 2.00 cup dried butter beans
- 1.00 ham hock
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 3.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 6.00 cup water
- 2.00 tbsp butter
- salt and pepper
Instructions

Soak butter beans overnight and drain.

Combine beans, ham hock, onion, garlic, and water in a large pot.

Bring to a boil then reduce heat.

Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours until beans are very tender and creamy.

Remove ham hock, pull off any meat, and return to pot.

Stir in butter.

Season generously with salt and pepper.

The beans should be very tender — almost falling apart.
