Grits Fritters
Leftover grits formed into patties, coated in cornmeal and pan-fried golden.
Ingredients
- 2.00 cup cooked and cooled stone-ground grits
- 0.50 cup cheddar cheese
- 2.00 g reen onions , diced
- 1.00 l arge egg
- 0.50 cup cornmeal
- salt and pepper
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

Mix cooled grits with cheese, green onions, egg, salt, and pepper.

Form into 2-inch patties.

Dredge in cornmeal.

Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Fry fritters 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

Drain on paper towels.

Serve hot with hot sauce or sour cream.
