Ingredients

  • 2.00 cup cooked and cooled stone-ground grits
  • 0.50 cup cheddar cheese
  • 2.00 g reen onions , diced
  • 1.00 l arge egg
  • 0.50 cup cornmeal
  • salt and pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

    Mix cooled grits with cheese, green onions, egg, salt, and pepper.

    Form into 2-inch patties.

    Dredge in cornmeal.

    Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    Fry fritters 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
