Fried Rabbit
Tender rabbit pieces seasoned and fried golden — an Appalachian tradition.
Ingredients
- 1.00 whole rabbit , cut into pieces
- 2.00 cup buttermilk
- 2.00 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.00 tsp garlic powder
- 1.00 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper
- vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

Marinate rabbit pieces in buttermilk for at least 4 hours.

Mix flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Remove rabbit from buttermilk and dredge in seasoned flour.

Fry in oil at 325°F for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.

Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
