Fig Preserves Cake
A moist spiced cake made with homemade fig preserves.
Ingredients
- 3.00 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.00 tsp baking soda
- 1.00 tsp cinnamon
- 0.50 tsp allspice
- 0.50 tsp salt
- 1.00 cup butter
- 2.00 cup sugar
- 4.00 l arge eggs
- 1.00 cup buttermilk
- 1.00 cup fig preserves
- caramel frosting

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease three 9-inch pans.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time.

Mix spices with flour.

Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk.

Fold in fig preserves.

Divide among pans and bake 25-30 minutes.

Cool completely.

Make caramel frosting: cook 2 cups brown sugar with 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup milk until boiling, cool 15 minutes, beat in 2 cups powdered sugar.
