Seafood Gumbo
A classic Louisiana gumbo with shrimp, crab, and oysters over rice.
Ingredients
- 1.00 lb shrimp , peeled
- 1.00 lb crab meat
- 1.00 lb okra , sliced
- 0.50 cup vegetable oil
- 0.50 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 1.00 bell pepper , diced
- 3.00 stalks celery , diced
- 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 8.00 cup seafood broth
- 2.00 tbsp cajun seasoning
- salt and pepper
- cooked rice
Instructions

Make a dark roux by stirring flour and oil over medium heat constantly for 30-45 minutes until chocolate brown.

Add onion, bell pepper, and celery and cook 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook 1 minute.

Add okra and cook 5 minutes.

Pour in broth gradually, stirring well.

Season with Cajun seasoning.

Simmer 30 minutes.

Add shrimp and crab and cook until shrimp is pink, about 5 minutes.
