Buttermilk Pound Cake
A tangy buttermilk pound cake with a crispy golden crust.
Ingredients
- 3.00 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.50 tsp baking soda
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 1.00 cup butter
- 3.00 cup sugar
- 6.00 l arge eggs
- 1.00 cup buttermilk
- 2.00 tsp vanilla extract
- glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar , 3 tbsp buttermilk

Preheat oven to 325°F and grease a large tube pan.

Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy, at least 5 minutes.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

Mix flour with baking soda and salt.

Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.

Stir in vanilla.

Pour into pan.

Bake 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan 15 minutes then turn out.

Mix glaze and drizzle over cooled cake.
