Ingredients

  • 2.00 cup fresh or frozen field peas
  • 1.00 ham hock
  • 1.00 onion , diced
  • 3.00 cup loves garlic , minced
  • 4.00 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

    Combine ham hock, peas, onion, garlic, and water in a pot.

    Bring to a boil then reduce heat.

  3. 3

    Simmer 45-60 minutes until peas are very tender.

  4. 4

    Remove ham hock and pull off any meat.

  5. 5

    Return meat to peas.

  6. 6

    Season with salt and pepper.

  7. 7

    Serve with cornbread.
