Turnip Greens
Tender turnip greens cooked with fatback and pepper vinegar.
Ingredients
- 2.00 bunches turnip greens with small turnips
- 1.00 ham hock
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 4.00 cup chicken broth
- 2.00 cup water
- 1.00 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- red pepper flakes , salt, and pepper to taste

Remove tough stems from greens and chop.

If small turnips are attached, dice them.

Combine ham hock, onion, garlic, broth, and water in a large pot.

Bring to a boil and simmer 30 minutes.

Add turnip greens and diced turnips.

Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Simmer covered 45-60 minutes until greens are very tender.

Remove ham hock and pull off meat.

Add vinegar and adjust seasoning.

Serve with cornbread.
