Shredded potatoes pan fried in butter until crispy and golden.
Ingredients
- 4.00 l arge russet potatoes , peeled and shredded
- 1.00 onion , grated
- salt and pepper
- 4.00 tbsp butter or bacon drippings

Shred potatoes and onion.

Squeeze out as much moisture as possible using a clean towel.

Season with salt and pepper.

Heat fat in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Spread potato mixture in an even layer.

Press down with a spatula.

Cook without disturbing 8-10 minutes until bottom is deeply golden.

Flip in sections and cook another 8-10 minutes.
