Southern Chow Chow
A tangy relish made with cabbage, peppers, and onions.
Ingredients
- 4.00 cup green tomatoes , finely diced
- 2.00 cup cabbage , finely shredded
- 1.00 cup green bell peppers , diced
- 1.00 cup onions , diced
- 2.00 tbsp salt
- 1.00 cup apple cider vinegar
- 0.50 cup sugar
- 1.00 tsp celery seed
- 1.00 tsp mustard seed
- 0.50 tsp turmeric

Combine vegetables with salt and let sit overnight.

Drain and rinse well.

Mix vinegar, sugar, and spices in a pot and bring to a boil.

Add drained vegetables.

Simmer 15-20 minutes.

Pack into sterilized jars.
