Ingredients

  • 3.00 lb beef stew meat
  • 0.50 lb bacon , diced
  • 1.00 bottle red wine
  • 2.00 cup beef broth
  • 1.00 lb mushrooms , sliced
  • 1.00 onion , diced
  • 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
  • 3.00 cup arrots , diced
  • 2.00 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt , pepper, thyme, and bay leaf

Instructions

    Brown bacon in a Dutch oven.

    Remove bacon and brown beef in batches in bacon fat.

  3. 3

    Remove beef.

  4. 4

    Sauté onion, garlic, and carrots.

  5. 5

    Add tomato paste and cook 1 minute.

    Return bacon and beef.

    Pour in wine and broth.

    Add thyme and bay leaf.

    Cover and braise at 325°F for 2 hours.

  10. 10

    Add mushrooms and cook 30 more minutes.

    Remove bay leaf, adjust seasoning, and serve.
