Southern Baked Beans
Pinto beans baked with bacon, brown sugar, and molasses.
Ingredients
- 2.00 cup ans navy beans , drained
- 0.50 lb bacon , chopped
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 0.50 cup molasses
- 0.25 cup ketchup
- 2.00 tbsp brown sugar
- 1.00 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1.00 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Cook bacon in a skillet until partially cooked.

Add onion and cook until softened.

Combine beans, bacon mixture, molasses, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire in a baking dish.

Season with salt and pepper.

Cover and bake 2 hours.

Uncover and bake 30 more minutes until sauce is thick and caramelized.

Serve hot.
