Ham Hock and Beans
Pinto beans slow cooked with a smoked ham hock until fall-off-the-bone tender.
Ingredients
- 2.00 cup dried great northern beans
- 2.00 ham hocks
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 8.00 cup water
- salt and pepper
- cornbread
Instructions

Soak beans overnight and drain.

Place ham hocks and beans in a large pot with water, onion, and garlic.

Bring to a boil then reduce heat.

Simmer 2-3 hours until beans are very tender and ham falls off the bone.

Remove ham hocks, shred meat, and return to pot.

Season with salt and pepper.

Serve with cornbread.
