Fried Shrimp Basket
Crispy fried shrimp served with coleslaw, hush puppies, and cocktail sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.00 lb large shrimp , peeled and deveined
- 1.00 cup cornmeal
- 0.50 cup all-purpose flour
- 1.00 tsp cajun seasoning
- salt and pepper
- 2.00 eggs
- vegetable oil for frying
- cocktail sauce and lemon wedges
Instructions

Mix cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Dip shrimp in beaten eggs then dredge in cornmeal mixture.

Heat 2 inches of oil to 375°F.

Fry shrimp in batches 2-3 minutes until golden and cooked through.

Drain on paper towels.

Serve with cocktail sauce and lemon wedges.
