Ingredients

  • 2.00 cup fresh or frozen field peas
  • 1.00 cup snap beans , snapped into pieces
  • 1.00 ham hock or 4 strips bacon
  • 1.00 onion , diced
  • 4.00 cup water
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

    Place ham hock or bacon in a pot with water and onion.

    Bring to a boil and cook 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add field peas and snap beans.

  4. 4

    Season with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

    Simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour until peas are very tender.

    Remove ham hock and shred any meat back into pot.

  7. 7

    Serve with cornbread and pot likker.
