  • 4.00 bone-in chicken thighs
  • 2.00 cup buttermilk
  • 2.00 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.00 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.00 tsp paprika
  • 1.00 tsp salt
  • 1.00 tsp black pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 2.00 cup all-purpose flour for waffles
  • 2.00 tsp baking powder
  • 0.50 tsp salt
  • 2.00 eggs
  • 1.75 cup buttermilk
  • 0.50 cup butter
  • maple syrup and hot sauce

Instructions

    Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.

    Make waffle batter by combining waffle flour, baking powder, and salt then whisking in eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.

    Remove chicken from buttermilk.

    Mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper for coating.

    Dredge chicken in seasoned flour.

    Fry in oil at 350°F for 15-18 minutes until golden and cooked through to 165°F.
