Ingredients

  • 1.00 lb catfish fillets
  • 1.00 cup cornmeal
  • 0.50 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.00 tsp salt
  • 1.00 tsp black pepper
  • 1.00 tsp cayenne
  • 1.00 tsp garlic powder
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 4.00 hoagie rolls
  • lettuce , tomato, pickles
  • remoulade or tartar sauce

Instructions

    Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder.

    Heat 2 inches of oil to 375°F.

    Dredge catfish fillets in cornmeal mixture.

    Fry 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Split and toast hoagie rolls.

    Spread with remoulade or tartar sauce.

    Layer with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and fried catfish.
