Ingredients

  • 2.00 l arge bunches collard greens
  • 2.00 smoked ham hocks
  • 1.00 onion , diced
  • 4.00 cup loves garlic , minced
  • 6.00 cup chicken broth
  • 2.00 cup water
  • 1.00 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1.00 tsp red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

    Remove tough stems from collard greens and roughly chop leaves.

    Combine ham hocks, onion, garlic, broth, and water in a large pot.

    Bring to a boil and cook 30 minutes.

    Add collard greens and red pepper flakes.

  5. 5

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Reduce heat and simmer covered 1 to 1 1/2 hours until greens are very tender.

    Remove ham hocks, pull off any meat, and return to pot.

    Add vinegar and adjust seasoning.

    Serve with pot likker.
