Chicken Bog
South Carolina chicken and rice cooked together with smoked sausage and herbs.
Ingredients
- 1.00 whole chicken
- 1.00 lb smoked sausage , sliced
- 2.00 cup long-grain rice
- 1.00 onion , diced
- 3.00 cup loves garlic , minced
- 6.00 cup chicken broth
- salt , pepper, and thyme

Simmer chicken in broth with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme for 1 hour until cooked through.

Remove chicken, cool, debone and shred.

Return shredded chicken and sausage to broth.

Bring to a boil.

Add rice.

Reduce heat, cover, and cook 20-25 minutes until rice absorbs all liquid.
